I spent a semester designing, machining, and building a complete Gamma-type Stirling Engine that comprised over 50 parts. A complete computer model was made using SolidWorks. The parts were made on a combination of CNC mills, manual mills, and manual lathes. Having attended the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts as a child, I designed my engine to be a clown riding a unicycle. It achieved speeds of over 1600 RPM.
